I'm always buying new foundations and testing out which ones work best for my skin, so when I came across Revlon ColorStay I fell in love.
I suffered from bad acne since I was 15 and my skin is only recently starting to clear up, but I still have a lot of acne scars and redness all over my face so it's hard to find a foundation that actually has a lot of coverage but doesn't feel heavy or cakey.
After searching on YouTube for a good full coverage foundation I decided to just go ahead and try the Revlon Colorstay. It comes in 2 different formulas, one for oily/combination skin and one for normal/dry skin. My skin tends to get a little dry so I bought the normal/dry skin formula to test out first. I bought it in the shade Buff, which is the second lightest shade. I then bought it again in the Oily/Combination formula in the lightest shade, Ivory.
When using this foundation I always put it on over a moisturiser and primer and found that it applied best when applied with a beauty blender! I applied it with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and also their Foundation Brush but for me personally it just worked so much better with the beauty blender where I could blend to my hearts content and get a flawless looking finish!
The foundation itself is thick and creamy. The Normal/Dry formula is a little but more runny/watery and gives a more dewy finish. The Combination/Oily formula however is thicker and gives a more matte finish.
The coverage after one layer of this foundation is insanely good, for darker/redder spots I did need concealer but not as much as I'd usually need, this foundation covers really well and makes my skin look so smooth! It is my holy grail foundation, so far! It doesn't oxidise and it isn't sticky, it does need to be set with powder, like most foundations, and it doesn't feel heavy or cakey at all and it lasts for hours, even in the summer heat!
I like both formulas so I use both of them depending on how dry/oily my skin is and I use the shade Ivory. You can find this foundation in any good drugstore or chemist, I picked mine up at Boots, for around 17 euro. The bottle lasts about 2-3 months for me and I wear foundation nearly every day so it's great value for money. It's a great low-end foundation!
*I'll add a before and after picture of this foundation soon*
